Royal mail misses delivery targets in every UK postcode

Royal Mail is missing its delivery targets in every UK postcode, with just 72.3% of first-class deliveries in RH delivered on time, well below the 93% target.
Constituents have reported receiving NHS appointment letters after the scheduled date, resulting in missed appointments and wasted NHS resources. Others have been handed parking fines that increased by 50% due to delayed delivery of penalty notices, while some received tax demands from HMRC after payment deadlines had passed. One resident has even been waiting over two months for birthday cards from family and friends.
This isn’t just about inconvenience - it’s costing people money and affecting essential services.
I wrote to the Department for Business and Trade alongside 28 of my Lib Dem MP colleagues demanding urgent action from the Government and Ofcom to fix this failing service.
