Prime Minister responds to Chris' campaign

After my election, I promised Fiona Laskaris that I would help her change the Mental Capacity Act (2005). Together with the National Autistic Society and cross party with Jeremy Hunt MP (Conservative) and Jake Richards MP (Labour), we have been campaigning for an amendment to the Mental Health Bill that is coming to the Commons this month.
This relatively small change, we believe, would have saved the life of Fiona's son - Christopher - and the lives of many other vulnerable people.
See Ed Davey asking the Prime Minister whether he would support this amendment.
Since ITV covered this story, more have been in contact. Last night ITV News at 10 reported on how Rebecca, an autistic woman, had been exploited many times because the Mental Capacity Act prevented her parents from requesting help for her.
I will be meeting with the Care Minister next week to discuss our proposed amendment and get one step closer to changing this law.
