Chris demands answers to Horley Metrobus changes

The new Westvale bus service is very welcome. But Metrobus and Surrey County Council should not have done it by cutting bus services to hundreds of my other constituents nor without adequate warning to either my constituents or me.
I brought Metrobus’s Commercial Director to Horley to explain the mitigations they have put in place, and he actually convinced me at the time that they were adequate.
However, it is quite clear from the experience of furious constituents who are using the changed services that they aren’t.
I wrote to Metrobus and Surrey County Council with all the complaints, and asked them to respond to each complaint and sort out this mess.
Metrobus has responded to people’s complaints. Frustratingly they won’t look at options to loop the 100 bus on Horley Row because of cost - I phoned them to ask as it’s not addressed in their letter.
However they will look again at some timetable issues - especially on early and late buses on Bonehurst Row. It is very disappointing that a welcome improvement in bus services in one part of Horley resulted residents being penalised elsewhere.
