Closure of Audiology Services at Dorking Community Hospital

I wrote to the Chair of Surrey Heartlands ICB about the closure of the Audiology department at Dorking Community Hospital. Many constituents have been raising their concerns.
After not hearing a response for weeks, I wrote to them again:

Surrey ICB shared their response with me:
Audiology services previously based at Dorking Community Hospital, run by Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, have been temporarily moved to Kingston Hospital due to IT issues preventing access to essential patient records at Dorking.
Unfortunately, these technical issues have not been resolved, and the Trust has confirmed the clinics cannot safely return to Dorking. Patient safety and access to medical records remain the priority.
While the move happened without prior consultation due to urgency, the Trust has been actively monitoring feedback and offering transport to Kingston for those who need it.
The NHS is now exploring alternative, more local options — including discussions with Epsom Hospital — and will update patients as soon as possible. A wider review of audiology services across Surrey will also take place during 2025/26, with patient involvement.
In the meantime, NHS audiology services are also available locally at Specsavers in Leatherhead, Epsom, and Banstead — no GP referral needed.
I’ll be meeting the Chair of Surrey ICB and taking him a petition to save this services which you can sign here: Dorking Audiology - Chris Coghlan MP
