Chris speaks on SEND provision in Parliament

Improving Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Surrey requires the culture of dishonesty and lies at Surrey County Council to end. My message directly to the Schools Minister in Parliament last night. This could not be more serious- I have desperate parents of suicidal autistic children coming to me for help who the council is ignoring. Yet the County Council leader said recently the “vast majority” of Surrey SEND parents have a good experience - despite the council suppressing a survey for 6 months of 1,000 parents saying only 16% of parents trusted the council on SEND.
When I met the new head of SEND last week, who seems committed to change, I said step one for the council should be to stop lying.
