Chris on ITV News trying to reopen Dorking Audiology

I’ve been speaking to ITV about local companies such as Specsavers who are able to take over the NHS hearing services contract at Dorking Community Hospital but are being held up by bureaucracy. This would rescue the hundreds of my constituents, some extremely vulnerable, who have been left stranded, unable to get their hearing aids after the audiology department was closed without warning by an IT glitch.
Over 700 people have now signed my petition demanding action. Specsavers can help new NHS patients soon, but Surrey ICB is still forcing existing patients to travel.
I’ve written to him asking to allow Specsavers to treat existing NHS patients too and if they could use the same space at Dorking Community Hospital as the old service.
