Chris exposes 117 local authorities' illegal treatment of children

Covered by ITV national news, I have written to the Education & Local Government Select Committee Chairs, Helen Hayes and Florence Eshalomi sharing over 650  family testimonies of unlawful, harmful or unethical behaviour by 117 local authorities across the country. At their worst these behaviours have cost children their lives, including my constituent Jennifer Chalkley. They indicate a systemic failure of local authority governance and a national scandal. As such I fully endorse the call of Education Select Committee Chair, Helen Hayes that the SEND EHCP legal rights of children must not be reduced.
