Chris calls on Andy Burnham to do more for business

The cost of fish has tripled in the last two years for Marinos Fish Bar in Dorking. On top of other rising costs, Nick, the owner, told me small businesses are struggling to break even.

I speak to lots of businesses like Nick’s, who say the government don’t do enough to support them. The recent VAT cut for some hospitality businesses is welcome but businesses are still being badly hurt by the rise in National Employers Contributions so I have written to Andy Burnham calling on him to do more.
