Chris brings Cllr Hulley to meet SEND parents

Yesterday I took Jonathan Hulley along to our SEND parents coffee morning in Bookham with over 25 parents with The Inclusive Learning Partnership. Jonathan is the new Conservative County Councillor leading Surrey County Council on SEND. I was encouraged to see Jonathan’s commitment to hear directly from parents about their experience from the Council and to try and improve - not easy. Within five minutes one of the mums was in tears about her fight for years to get her son into an appropriate school and the obfuscation, callousness and delay she’d experienced from the Council while he expressed suicidal thoughts. We will look back at this as one of the great scandals of our time.
