Chris asks about economic benefits of early SEND intervention
This week during a Treasury Select Committee hearing, I asked about the economic benefits of investing in the SEND system and questioned how much money could be saved through early intervention. In Surrey, there are currently over 1,800 children out of education, impacting their chances of employment later in life and putting strain on social services. I was told it's a 'no-brainer' that investing in children is a good idea in the long-run. If we invest in our children now, we will see many economic benefits in the long-run and save countless lives.
