Chris argues for the use of seized Russian assets to defeat Putin

Russia’s capacity to wage war is likely to rapidly fall in a year's time, but only if we can keep Ukraine in the fight. By seizing the $300bn in frozen Russian assets the G7 has the opportunity to not only keep Ukraine in the fight, but to win.
In my first foreign policy speech to Parliament, I argued that If Ukraine can end this war on terms that demonstrably show it is victorious, the consequences for our security will be profound. The threat from Russia will be greatly diminished. China may think twice about challenging the liberal world order and the narrative of the decline of the free world and the rise of dictatorships will be decisively set back.
