Choosing to go to the moon

In 1962, John F Kennedy triggered stunning increases in US economic growth by choosing to go to the moon.
This week on the Treasury Select Committee, Professor Paolo Surico testified that the British economy could too by issuing £20bn a year of R&D bonds and doubling our public research and development investment to South Korean levels.
If implemented correctly, within 4-10 years we could be one of the world's fastest growing economies. Paolo and I have been working to influence the government on how to end the UK's doom loop of crumbling public services and ever higher taxes and debt.
Paolo's research was used by the Chancellor in the Spring Statement to upgrade British long term GDP forecasts by £11bn a year.
