Michael and residents at Turville Court had no central heating for two years. A resident in their 90’s daughter had to visit daily just to turn on the temporary heaters because they couldn’t do it independently. I spoke to the BBC about this.

Clarion promised me before that they will listen to residents, yet people still tell me they are in yearlong battles with serious mould and maintenance problems and feel ignored. I will now be raising this directly with the housing minister.

I met with Clarion’s Regional Housing and Repair Leads to raise residents’ concerns around poor communication and delays. They’ve laid out new plans to improve: more Housing Officers on estates, better contact centre tech, and faster repair response - aiming for first visits within 28 days. Residents have heard promises before so I’ll continue to hold Clarion accountable until we see real improvement.

Many Clarion residents are living in appalling conditions — with damp and mould-infested homes, pest problems, and children relying on inhalers due to the impact of their environment.

Mark and Tracy, residents I’ve been supporting since January, shared their story. Their home is unsuitable and making their live both uncomfortable and unsafe.

Another resident, Kenneth, has had five separate visits from Clarion confirming that his doors need replacing — yet no work has been carried out.

Clarion continues to fail its residents, and I will be raising this unacceptable service in Parliament to demand action and accountability.

I met my constituents, Mark and Tracy Bailey, who are living in unsuitable conditions in a Clarion home.

Mark has progressive supranuclear palsy, a terminal illness which affects his speech and mobility. Their current home has stairs which makes it unsuitable.

Tracy has requested a move from Clarion so that Mark can have a better quality of life and move about safely in their home. 

Clarion have done nothing.

Mould, damp, and collapsing ceilings—this is the shocking reality for too many Clarion residents in our area.

One family showed me their child’s bedroom, riddled with black mould and unfit to sleep in. Another sent footage of their kitchen ceiling caved in, with Clarion claiming they couldn’t fix it. These aren’t isolated incidents; they’re symptoms of a system that has failed residents across the board.

I’ve demanded urgent action to address hazards like black mould and caved-in ceilings. Residents shouldn’t have to fight for what should be a basic right: a safe and decent place to live.
